Nightmare Coming True – Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I am a Maryland candidate and I received my passing score (81) for my final section (REG) taken in February. When I printed out my score report on 3/25/11, the report showed that I passed all 4 sections of the exam. When I printed out my score report on 4/5/11, however, it still says that I passed REG but it says “No Credit” next to REG in the current credit status section and it says “Credit Expires” for the other 3 sections that I had passed. It also allows me to register again for REG. I called the MD State Board and the lady told me to contact NASBA but when I called NASBA, they said I needed to contact my state board. Why did my score report change? Is this some kind of April’s fool joke? I am very confused and freaked out.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

    FAR - Passed 08/20/10
    BEC - Passed 10/25/10

I'm a NV candidate and only get a score report if I don't pass a section. I know you'll work this out. Since it's your State Board of Accountancy ultimately issuing your license, keep asking for a supervisory level person until they can sort this out for you. It sounds like they've got a problem with their reports. Can you please keep us posted?

Study chair, I've emailed my state board and have been trying to get a hold of them to follow up on my email but I haven't had any luck getting a response. I just need them to tell me that it's a glitch as you said and I'll be fine but I'm worried that it's something else – like maybe i was missing some documentation or worse, maybe they suspect me of cheating or something (which I most certainly didn't do)

I'm sure you'll be fine. I was just looking at your dates and it looks like you're well within the 18-month period. Do you live anywhere near your State Board office? As far as your documentation goes, if you were able to get scores on the other sections then you already met their requirements. Easy for me to say “don't worry” because I know that I'd want to get this straight as soon as possible…but, don't worry about something that hasn't happened yet!

Post when you know anything more, ok?

So here's what happened: I finally got a hold of the MD State Board and I was waiting for the woman to tell me that there was a computer glitch but instead she told me that the system showed that i had not taken the exam! I almost fainted. I told her that I did take it had received passing scores but she just repeated that they had no record showing that I had taken it. She told me to send her the score reports I was referring to and she would “take a look at it”. After sending her my reports, I waited in agony for a reply and was not able to get any work done. She finally called me back and told me that there had in fact been a system's glitch and that she would have someone fix it so it reflected my passing scores. Thank goodness! I'm just afraid what would have happened if I hadn't checked my scores again. I wouldn't have known that my score report had changed and the system would continue showing that I had never taken reg….

Don't we all love the CPA exam process? I mean…………the organizations running the exam are so efficient, have good communication with CPA candidates and above all, they focus on the timeliness of this process.

@herbert7890: Yes, it's def a shame some of us still have to put up w/ these headaches even after passing

@Study Chair, Best of luck with Audit. Judging from your other scores, I'm sure you'll do just fine! And make sure you print out your score report b/c you never know if it will change!
