Hi everyone,
nI am from Europe and not too familiar with recommendation letters. . .

New Hampshire requires 3 recommendation letters from friends about my character to hand in together with all other documents.

n

Does anyone know what exactly my friends should write in this letter. Or do you know a source where I can find out about this? Maybe there a best practice examples anywhere. My google search wasn’t very successful. . .

I would appreciate any helpful comments, links,etc.

I wrote one for a friend of mine who passed last year and got his license a few months ago. Each state is different, but I believe they can't be family. Something like the following should suffice:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

n

I am pleased to recommend that the application for a certificate to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in <State your sitting in> submitted by <Your Name> receive your favorable consideration. I have known <Your Name> since began her employment at <the firm you work at> in <Date you started>. During this time he/she has demonstrated to me that his/her character and integrity are above reproach and his/her ability as a public accountant is outstanding.

Whoever is signing the letter

Simple and straight forward work the best.n
