New Guy. Credit transfer question

I’m concerned and hoping someone can help clear something up for me. I am a resident of Ohio, but do not yet meet the education requirements to sit for the exam or be licensed in Ohio. Therefore, I registered as a Kentucky candidate. As soon as I pass all four sections, I will have met the education requirements in Ohio and plan to just transfer my credit and apply for licensure in Ohio.

Has anyone else done anything like this? I feel like I’m just exploiting a loophole and Ohio isn’t going grant me a license when I apply.

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78

    Licensed in Ohio.

Now what the hell do I do?

I have to do the same thing. I was living in NYC at the time I was registering so I am under NY. But I start working in Boston in September so I'll need to transfer everything. When it's time to transfer your credits, you basically have to completely re-apply under the state of Ohio where you'll be practicing. As long as you meet all their requirements, and like you said you'll have enough credits by then, then you will be fine. I'm just annoyed that I'll have to repay a bunch of fees again! I think the transfer credit fees isn't too much, but you have to pay the application fee as well. You're smart in doing it the way you are, the exams are the biggest part of the process. I had to take a few classes as well to meet the 150 credit requirement, literally $1,000 a class including the books.. This process is draining my resources!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Amen to that!! I am in a similar situation. I am 3 credit hours short to sit for the exam (and get licensed) in AL so I am sitting under GA law and will transfer my credits later on. I am taking the class this summer but I think I will stay with GA until I am done and then work on the transfer. This was recommended to me by the Chair of Accountancy at my alma mater and she said that they have grad students that do it all the time. If it is a loophole, it is a widely used one. We shouldn't have any problems. I am, however, waiting until after I have all 4 under my belt before attempting to transfer credits. I don't need any unnecessary potential for stress right now!! hahaha

Good to know there are others in the same boat. I'm also only 3 hours short and I'm also going to wait until I pass all 4 in KY until I transfer credit. Seems a little rediculous that I don't even have to drive to KY to take the exam. But if Ohio doesn't want my money I'll gladly give it to Kentucky for letting me sit. Good luck!
