Hi guys,

So far I have passed FAR, AUD & REG and waiting on results for BEC. I am thinking of taking ethics exam in the meantime. I have no idea on how to prepare and register for the exam. Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

Hope I pass BEC and don’t have to study again for these monster exams!

Some states are different, but you'll probably need to take the AICPA's Ethics Course which is available on the AICPA website. You can order a book or CD-ROM. I went the CD route and was pleased with the results. You just watch a slide show of the material which takes a couple of hours then take the examination. The exam is open book/notes/cd and when you're finished, AICPA will send your score to your state board. As I mentioned, some states have different requirements for the ethics exam and you may not need to take one at all, but check their website or call them for sure.

I am confused on the ethics exam. I ordered the materials from the AICPA and received them in the mail today. One of my friends took this about a year ago and said it was 40 multiple choice and that you get a study test to markup the answers on prior to taking the actual test. In the mail, I got something way different. No study tests were included in the packet I received. Instead I got a 240 question paper test with bubbles I can fill answers in for. How long is the test online and is there a study test you can mark up while working through the training on the CD?

I ordered mine back in May. You have to access through the CD, work your way through it as if you are ready to take the test. I think you have to select an option. After that you will be able to print the exam and the “study material” that should be a .pdf file. Do not get crazy with the power point presentation. It took me awhile to realize my way through the whole thing and to print the material. After you have answered the “paper test” you can then go online and enter your answers.

Please consider that you have up to 3 attempts to pass. You need a score of 90.
