    Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing fine. Thanks to this forum. I can ask for advise here. I just got approved from my state(TX) to write the exam but now its getting harder for me as I dont know which exam to register for first. This is my first time writing CPA exam.

    Any help will be appreciated

    Thanks

@dharani20: I don't think there's one fixed answer to this. Many people try taking their hardest section first (usually FAR or REG) so that in case they fail their 18-month window doesn't begin and they get more time to pass the section.

On the other hand other people prefer taking easier sections first because passing a section can be a huge boost to your confidence level and motivate you to study for the next exams.

As for me, I chose randomly because I knew I had to study hard no matter which order I took them in! 🙂

    Good Luck!!!

    Thank you so much.

I agree with you that one has to work hard regardless and if you think logically the 18 month window starts after you pass your first one so thats why i wanted to do the hardest one first. With 2011 changes I wasnt sure as to which one would be hardest. however i guess i will have to pick one.. If you dont mind can you let me know which course review should i buy. I will start studying soon as i dont like cramming stuff in the end.

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate your help. Its nice to hear from people whove passed CPA.

    Thanks

Go for reg or far. Those are the hardest. And require the most prep time. You can also try two per window strategy. Take 1 in beginning of month, one at end. Just don't buy all NTS at same time. For instance start to study for FAR now, take it July 1. Then take audit Aug 31. If you are really ambitious do far July 1, aud Aug 1, BEC Aug 31. Go for heavy/light combo per window…don't mix reg and far…just much info. For me aud and BEC require only a month of prep… There are some people who can't pass aud or BEC either…so don't assume they are easy because I said reg and far are harder

I just took the new BEC and based on the wording of several questions I would suggest taking that after FAR and AUD. Reg seems to stand alone but AUD, BEC and FAR are intertwined.

Thanks for the replies. Really Appreciate it.

Yes I will take FAR first and i have started studying too. I am approved so i will get NTS soon. I plan to take FAR on July 1st and whatever you guys said makes sense. Might as well start early.

I also agree that a light/heavy combo makes sense so i dont feel like i have overstudied. If you guys dont mind what course would be best. I have heard that becker is good but really expensive and has too much stuff which is not important. Yaeger looks decent but I just want to consult before I buy any of the courses.

    Thanks for all the replies.
