Question for you guys. I’m working on transferring my license to Georgia, however it looks like I am 2 (TWO) accounting credit hours short to do so. The state I am transferring from counts introductory acct courses towards their 30 hour requirement but unfortunately Georgia does not. Does anyone know of a good online program where I could take one class to fill this requirement? Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, I am a first time poster so just wanted to say a big thank you to the board. I just passed my exam late last year and it was due in large part the the support of this community.

Do you want a “program” or just classes? University of Phoenix would probably have a decent handful of classes to choose from. I think it's something like $600 per credit.

Just a class really. I guess I said program because I want to make sure it's something that will be accepted by the board towards the requirement. Thanks for the input.

Strayer University has an accounting certificate that works perfectly for those who have a non accounting degree but want to become eligible to take the CPA exam. You could easily pick up a class or two online there.

I'm sure there may be cheaper options, but Becker/DeVry offers credit for classes where all you do is basically take the Becker review class and get credit for it. Be warned, they are NOT cheap.

@calicpa, I'd be surprised if most community colleges had classes that the OP hadn't already taken. It sounds like he already has a BS in accounting. He doesn't just need credits. He needs accounting credits specifically, for classes above and beyond “Principles of Financial” or “Intermediate I” because I assume he already has those.
