I mailed in my application to the NC State Board on June 24th and received an email yesterday (7/9/19) that a preliminary review of my application appears to be complete and correct. Now it will be submitted to the staff and then the Board for consideration and to allow at least 10 weeks for the Board to review it. Has anybody else recently submitted their application and did it take 10 weeks or did it come back quicker?

It took about 4 weeks after I received that email. When the staff at the board reviews everything, it will get submitted to the board for approval (and they virtually all get approved at that point unless there is something that caught the attention of the staff like a conviction). Problem is, the board only meets once per month and you are basically waiting until they meet again until you'll get approved and get a certificate number. I sent my application in February, and it didn't pass initial review until just after the board met in March; which meant that I had to wait until the April meeting to get final approval. It was probably 9 weeks total from the day that I sent my application in.

They meet again Monday, July 22 and I bet you'll get a notice that you've been approved later that week.

Thanks for the info Jimmy. I was wondering because 10 weeks would put me at the September Board meeting and that sounded like an awful long time for approval.
