Wanted to post both to help me keep track and to help other MN candidates know what to expect!

8/1/14 – got final score release

8/26/14 – sent in final bit of paperwork and $$ to MN (transcripts requested/confirmed sent, experience verification sent, and personal reference forms [3] sent to references, one confirmed mailed to state same day)

8/29/14 – AICPA sent ethics exam results to MN

8/30/14 – received letter from MN confirming I passed all 4 sections

Now to wait for the next step! Hopefully it’ll be quick… I WANT THOSE LETTERS! 🙂

    FAR - 79 (11/27/13)
    AUD - 76 (2/1/14)
    REG - 77 (5/30/14)
    BEC - 88 (7/18/14)

    MN Ethics - 100% (3/9/14)

    AND DONE! 8/1/14

Question about transcript requirements… I went to two different schools and have two undergrad degrees. For my accounting degree, I only took classes for the core program, and they accepted all of my credits from my first degree in transfer. Does anybody know if I will need to send the state transcripts from both schools, or just the transcript from my accounting degree which shows me graduating with more than 150 credits? Thanks.

I got my letter in the mail today. Now to start submitting everything. If I am missing something, will the board request it from me, or do I have to check with them to make sure they received everything I need?

Why don't you go over the requirements to make sure you're sending in everything that you need to? That would probably be the best thing to do.

Mary, my bigger concern was if there was an issue with any of the documents submitted, for example if one of my references didn't fill their form out correctly, or didn't mail it, etc.

Gotcha … may be a “wait-and see” type of event, unfortunately. Best of luck to you!

KBinMN, how long did it take from the board meeting until you were notified that your application was approved?

I am licensed in MN and the day after the board meeting my name showed up as an active CPA on the Board of Accountancy website: https://www.boa.state.mn.us/Licensing/findCPA.html

I got something in the mail three days later. I didn't say I was a CPA until I got the certificate but I thought my name on the website was a good sign that I was accepted.

Checked this morning, and my name is now listed as an active CPA. Now to get the actual certificate.

    Ugh.

12 credits short, evidently. Despite school and my adviser telling me my program got me the credits I needed. Should have checked for myself, I realize, but this is still a damn kick in the head. Back to school for a few baloney classes I guess.

Got my certificate in the mail, along with an unexpected surprise… a renewal notice. With the one year licenses, it expires at the end of the year it was issued. My license was issued in October, and expires in December. However, I don't need to start reporting CPEs until next July.
