In Missouri, your work experience is documented in a section on the license application that you can download from the MOSBA website. When you complete your application, you will have a licensed CPA sign off on that section of your actual application. Good luck!n

Just out of curiosity, do you have to be working directly under the CPA that signs off on the application? In my case, I have worked directly under a CPA for over a year, but I have a friend that is just now beginning the journey through the CPA exam. Unfortunately, his boss is not a CPA, but I am aware that he is doing accounting work…once I get my CPA, would I be able to sign off on his experience, even though I was not his supervisor?n

I know the CPA does not have to be a supervisor (my co-worker had another co-worker who is a CPA sign off on hers and she is not her supervisor-but they did work closely together). The CPA just has to be aware of the work done by the person applying. Now as far as being a new CPA to sign off, I am not really sure about that. That might be a question to call the board about. They have always been very nice to me when I have called them about licensing questions.n
