Is any other State’s CPA certificate this boring? Michigan’s is in extremely small, computer-style font, all printed on some 5×7 cheap piece of paper. It looks like the top half of a check statement.

I was expecting something to resemble a college diploma I suppose. I may Photoshop myself a real certificate, simply because I have a nice frame that I wanted to hang my certificate in.

I think the certificates in many states are not as impressive as they used to be (I've seen CPA certificates hanging on walls around here in KY that are far fancier than the one I got!), and in many states they're just plain boring.

The one that I received wasn't terrible, but wasn't fancy either. It was 8×10 and looked like a typical certificate. I'm not big into display, though – the frame I got for it was a simple frame with about a 1/2″ frame, and that was all I wanted for it. It's hanging on the wall of my office, but it's too small for anyone to read unless they came around behind my desk to see what it was. My diploma is still in the diploma presentation padded-leather-case-thing it came in, sitting in a pile of books and paperwork on my home desk. So, KY's was fine to me, but I'm not into the big fancy ones. I've heard that my state CPA society has a bigger, fancier one that either you can purchase or they'll present if you go to the new CPAs banquet, but it was on a Thursday night 2 hours away and I would have had to work the next morning, so I didn't go. 😛

MA gets a wallet card. Thats it.

IMHO I wouldn't photoshop anything but I think you can order a better cert for about $40 from NASBA.

I thought MA candidates get diploma. May be wallet card is in addition to wall diploma?

Yeah, its boring. I saw somewhere I could order one but frankly wasn't a big enough deal to me to pay for.

The state board only sends the wallet card, no certificate.

If you've seen a MA wall hanging, it can be purchased from the NASBA store for $27 but unfortunately thats the only way to get your hands on one.

That might just be the actual license? I got what you described but also received a wall certificate in the mail a couple of months later which basically looks like a diploma. I am not in MI, though.
