    Hello.

I passed CPA exam as Delaware candidate, but I am living and will live in California.

Is there any point to get Delaware license if I would live in California rest of my life?

Delaware require only 1 year general accounting experience, but 2 years for California (passway 1).

It is hard for me to obtain 2 year general accounting experience by the end of 2015 which means I need to go with passway 2 if I would like to get licensed in California.(I don’t have 150 unit, so I need to go back to school to take more classes.)

I would like to start a tax/bookkeeping business next year. I am EA, so I can start this business without CPA license, but I thought I can attract more client if I can officially say I am CPA.

    Any advice?

I too am going to have issues with the getting the experience required in CA (my boss for the past 5+ years is not a CPA).

I was considering going through CO, because they don't require any experience. I went for my MBA in anticipation of either going to CO or CA pathway 2.

I decided to go through CA pathway 2 because I'd never be able to transfer to a CA license, unless I fulfill the experience requirement anyways. And if I ever decide to open my own business I'm going to need it because I'm never moving back to CO.

BTW, CA pathways 1 & 2 expire at the end of the year, you should to look into that. What's effective as of 1/1/14 is similar to pathway 2, but from what I can tell has more specific education requirements.
