Hi folks. I am thinking about taking the CA PETH now even though I still need my year of work. I’ve got the free time to tackle it now and I know that free time will be more precious once I’m working full time again.

I’m done with the exams and educational requirements. I’m starting at a mid tier public accounting firm as an auditor in a few weeks.

Good plan? I know people usually wait to take the PETH but I read I have two years to get licensed after passing it. I only need a year of experience so I feel like I’ve got a good amount of buffer time.

However, I’m not familiar with CA licensing and any hang ups that could potentially occur … any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

From what I know CA exam scores never expire so there is no time limit . Sure requirements may change throughout the years which may carry new requirements to become licensed. But to my knowledge u can pick up years later and become a CPA as long as you meet the current requirements. Check with state boards to make sure

    THANKS TO GOD

@sdguy – are you sure? Because the CBA says two years: https://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/faqs/faqlic.shtml
