Hi everyone so I called the CBA to check on my application. They said it’s going to final review. Does that mean I am good to go? I know it means that they recieved everything which they had already told me in the postcard they sent. Just wondering if it means they will be accepting everything I have submitted. I know sometimes they have told people that certain work experience is not accepted or whatever. Thanks for your input.

I'm having a similar situation with Colorado's license process (NASBA). I'm already licensed in another state and submitted a reciprocal license application on Jan 7th. I submitted all the required application forms and college transcripts, got confirmation they received my files a couple days later. 2 weeks passed and I got an email saying my “application had been processed and I'd have an answer within 5 business days after a quality-control review.”.. 2 weeks passed without an update, so I emailed them back and they responded saying my “CPE verification chart was incomplete” (forgot to list the AICPA Ethics course). I sent in the updated form, 2 weeks later they responded saying my application had been processed and I'd have an answer within 5 business days after a quality-control review.. after 7 days I got an email saying my application was found to be deficient and they'd let me know exactly what I was missing in 48 hours. No follow-up email after 5 days, and then yesterday I got an email that said ‘The Board of Accountancy requires that all licensure eligible applications be reviewed and subsequently approved at their monthly board meeting.'. I looked and the next CO Board meeting is 3/22, and I won't hear about my license status until 2 weeks later. So I'm looking at Mid-April for an application submitted 1/7. Couldn't be much more inefficient than that. Good luck with your CA application!

Hi iputaspellonfar, I submitted my application to CBA in late December and received the card a month ago. I emailed them last week, and they said mine is not under initial review yet and would take 8 weeks to review. Not sure whether I could get my license before the 1st half of this year.:(

Woah. That's intense. Who knew one week could make such a difference? Are you planning to continue following up?

@iputaspellonfar – Final review means they have received all of the information they need to review your application. Assuming everything clears, the next step should be receiving a licensing approval voucher. Once you pay the voucher, you are issued a license number and you are a CPA! Sounds like you're almost there. Be patient with the CBA, they took almost 4 months to license me from the time I sent in my app.
