Licensing Education Requirement

Hi, I recently passed the 4th part of the CPA exam and am applying for licensure in Massachusetts. I have an undergrad in Accounting, MBA in Finance, and meet the experience requirements. Unfortunately, and despite meeting the 150 hour requirement, I’m being told my undergrad degree falls 2 semester hours short of the 30 hours required specifically in Accounting courses. Needless to say, it’s very disappointing after spending all of this time studying for the exam to find that I now need to take additional accounting classes to meet this requirement.

I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions for either:

    1) relatively painless ways to complete 2 semester hours online (can I take any accounting class?)
    2) any states that require 28 hours or less of “accounting” undergrad courses? I don’t work in public accounting and don’t “need” the license in Mass. to do my job…I simply want to add CPA to my resume and thus would consider a license in a state not requiring residency.

    Thanks!

I'd find out if the missing credits need to be ‘upper level' (300 and up) or if they can be lower level. If it's lower level you need then you could take any online accounting course from an acreddited institution and be good to go
