I just passed all my CPA exams after my initial application form expire. ( well, I didnt know that it would expire after 5 years in New York ) However, I just got a job offer as a controller and started working there with no CPA supervision. I am not sure if I suppose to file license initial application again in order to retain my passing scores in New York ?
Since my current job is not going to fulfill my work requirement, and I am planning to at least work as a controller for 1 or 2 year. Should I file an initial application when I actually able to find a job to fulfill work requirement ? if I file now, it will start count down that 5 years again! am i better off to file it later, so i have more time to fulfill work requirement ?
Also, I am planning to take another 30 credits in order to cut down 2 years work req to 1 year. that’s why I want to make sure filing initial application early may not be a smart move?
