I just passed all 4 parts of the exam in IL. How do I go about taking the ethics exam?

You have to order the exam and have it mailed to you. But once you get it, you can take it online and get your score instantly, but they also ask you what state you want it to go to so you just have to indicate Illinois. You have the option of buying a CD or booklet. I opted for a CD and did a split screen between the CD and the online exam and found it pretty easy. Others have said they preferred the booklet. Regardless, it's pretty easy. Also, the scantron form they send you has like 240 questions on it. Don't worry, the exam is only 40 questions.

Are we allowed to take the Ethics exam before passing all 4 parts? I'm waiting for my last FAR score and figured I might as well pass the Ethics exam while wave 2 rolls along.

AUD - Passed; REG - Passed; BEC - Passed; FAR - PASSED!!!

You can take it at any time during the process. I took it before taking all 4 sections. Someone actually recommended taking it before taking REG (which, based on changes in 2011, ethics is now on AUD, I think) to help in studying for it.

I'm from IL. I just did the Ethics exam. I got the following info from ILBOA:

Q: How do I obtain the course/exam?

A: You can access information about the course on the AICPA site http://www.cpa2biz.com. Key in Ethics

Course in the “Search box” and it will bring up information about Ethics courses. Be sure to

choose the correct course: “Professional Ethics: The AICPA's Comprehensive Course” from

the options presented. It will explain how to purchase, its content, etc. It is an open-book test.

Be aware that you must complete the course within one year of purchase!

It's so simple! You can get the book or CD. It's soooooooooooooooooooo easy! I missed one because I couldn't find one question-so I guessed. I got the book. The questions go in the same order as the book. So it's very simple. But I heard you can search the CD for answers.. either way it's simple 🙂

Congratulations too!! I wonder how long it takes to get your license… after the Ethics exam of course..
