I’ve been using Becker for BEC and AUD and it has served me well thus far :prayandknockonwoodforAUD: . Reading all of the posts about how Becker isn’t doing particularly well for SIMS on REG has me worried. Can’t explain that. So, I ask: What’s the best review for REG with regards to SIMS and also MCQ’s?

It was pretty decent for the MCQ on REG. Not so much on the SIMS. I dont know why they insist on making the SIMS so damn hard. CPAs are making less and less money but they are making the exams harder?

Don't mean to sound negative, but I don't know that there's anything out there that can prepare you for the REG SIMS. First of all, there are so many obscure little topics in tax that can be tested, it's virtually impossible to know them all going in. Yes, you have the research tab, but that takes extra time plus you have to interpret the Code as it applies to your situation which isn't always easy. Secondly, some of the questions are poorly worded to the point that you have no idea what's being asked. There are probably some like this on every exam, but it seems to be worse on REG than the others judging by the number of complaints. My best advice would be to be well prepared on every tax topic in Becker including all the ancillary material that they say is unlikely to be tested and to allow plenty of time for the SIMS. If you're lucky you'll get mostly questions that are tough but not impossible.

I agree with the post above know the insides and out of thee becker book and you probably wont get a sim on the exam like you've seen in becker so you'll have to apply everything you know from the book. I've looked at Wiley as well and the Sims they have aren't even close to the exam either so you just have to study hard and be able to apply what you've learned

Agreed. I knew Becker inside and out and did several exams on the Wiley Test Bank and I still got 3 SIMS that where nothing close to what I had reviewed
