I passed CPA exam in 2012 – New Requirement still applicable to me?

    From California, btw.

    From CalCPA Website:

    “2014: The Year of Change
New education requirements for licensure are in effect. The new licensure requirements are available here. In order to qualify for former Pathways 1 or 2, you must have passed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam prior to Dec. 31, 2013.
California law gives CPA candidates who passed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam prior to Dec. 31, 2013 two additional options for entering the profession:

    Pathway 1

    Pathway 2″

Neither of the original pathways require the new 20 semester units of accounting study or the 10 semester units of ethics study. Since I passed all four sections of the exam prior to Dec. 31, 2013, does this mean I am still qualified for licensure?

FYI – I have the experience requirement out of the way. I only need to take the Ethics exam (PETH).

From my understanding, you have to comply with whatever educational requirements exist at the time you send in your app. Example – as of 1/1/17, they put a new ed requirement under ethics of requiring a class specifically called Accounting Ethics/Ethics In Acctg, etc. Unless your app had been received by the board by 12/31/16, you'll have to have that class completed, amongst whatever other requirements you need. The pathways are sort of non-relevant now with the 20 units and 10 units you're referring to. That's the new standard for everyone, including yourself.
