I took the CA ethics exam and failed. I have 2 more attempts. Any advice?

Take it online, print out the questions, research every answer, pass.

Write the page and chapter for each answer next to the question so that when you get your score report you can narrow down which questions you missed. The chapters listed in the performance report are in order of the questions that you missed.

If your score is close, dont change too many answers each time you take it. You could end up changing a questions from right to wrong, and it will be tough narrowing down which anwers you changed.

If you have the pdf, use control find to search for key words and read every single reference you find. Many topics are referenced in more than one place and may describe an exception to the rule that you might need to know.

If you have the text, call the CalCPA and ask for a pdf copy.

If you end up failing three times, its no big deal. All you have to do is call the CalCPA and ask them for three more attempts and they will give it to you for free. If you need three more after that, I think they charge you 1/2 the price.
