Now that I passed all four exams, I need to take the Ethics. I know it’s a dumb question….but how do I apply and study for the exam? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Ethics test is an online open book test. You can order from the AICPA website..its like $130. When you pass they will forward your scores to the state you choose.

For me it took about 2 hours from goign thru the course to taking the text. You get your scores back immediately.

AUD - 74, 82 | REG - 82 | FAR - 76 |Ethics -98
BEC - 71, 68, 81 (FINALLY DONE!!!!)

Does anyone know if it's possible at all to take the ethics exam without purchasing the course? What if I've taken ethics courses in college? Can I have the ethics requirement waved? 🙂

All, You need to get with your State Board of Accountancy to determine the proper requirements for licensing. Each state is different, many require the AICPA ethics course to get your license but not all. Some states have their own course and there are others who don't require one at all like my state Indiana. Check with your State Board of Accountancy first before purchasing anything. I am sure if it is required, the State Board of Accountancy website will probably have a link to the AICPA website for the course.

examtaker, I have not heard of a single individual say that they can take the ethics course without purchasing or having the State Board waive the ethics requirement. Sorry.
