Ok so recently found out I can’t take my cpa exam, after two months of studying, due to me being 5 credit hour short in accounting. I didn’t know it was suppose to be upper level accounting course. Anyway- I graduated last year from a new college that has no reputation however it is gaining momentum and slowly getting some reputation.

So I am have graduated with an accounting degree with two year work experience working at a small cpa firm, which i work anymore.

So should I apply to get my masters program in accounting at another univeristy so I can get a chance to get a job at a big company and finish 30 hrs? or should I just go back to where I graduated and get more credit hours and just apply for jobs. Issue it is too late now for masters program because I have to study for GRE and it is close to end of the year so admission deadlines are around the corner. . I am confused.

I do want to work for Big 4 company if not atleast fortune 500 companies.

Sorry the above post doesn't make sense. It seems as if I was drunk while writing this.

So should I apply to get my Masters in accounting at another university so I can get a chance to get a job/internship at a big company and finish 30 hrs? or should I just go back to where I graduated from and get more credit hours and just apply for jobs through online on my own. Problem is that it is too late for masters program because I have to study for GRE and get good scores and turn them in it. It is close to end of the year so admission deadlines are around the corner. I am confused.

Btw I don't work at the CPA firm anymore and l live in Georgia.

I decided to get my 30 hours in January, and the deadline to apply was April. Some programs' deadlines are in February so you have plenty of time to get your application in.

Go to a school with strong recruiting ties to the big 4, over your small school. Is your UG school even ACSB accredited? You may have a problem applying to the larger schools with your undergraduate degree.

Not sure if this is an option for you but I filled out the 150 credit hours post-graduation by taking some online classes (general interest, not accounting since I had those all covered) as a non-matriculated student. That meant I wanted the credits but I wasn't actually pursuing my degree.

Ok so you have a BS in Accounting, 150 hours of credit, but only have 25 hours of eligible accounting courses?

See if you can enroll as a non-degree seeking student at your university (or any university you want to go to) and take 2 classes during a semester.
