I am studying for the WA ethics test, I have been great at failing that test 🙂 I am a bit confused on timing for CPE and renewal.
So in WA the rules read as such (which is similar to most states):
*CPE reporting period is the calendar year time period beginning in the calendar year a credential is first issued by the Board and ending on December 31st of the subsequent third calendar year.
*An individual license expires on June 30 of the third calendar year following renewal.
* Failure to file the application for renewal by April 30 of the year of expiration will result in a late fee.
MY QUESTION:
So I want to make sure I am getting this right:
If I get my license on March 1, 2015, the period that I have to earn CPE credits is from March 1, 2015 until December 31, 2017 (2015 = year 1, 2016 = year 2, 2017 = year 3). Then I have to submit my application by April 30, 2018 (so it has to be in on the 29th?) in order to avoid late fees. So if I submit on April 30th, is that late?
Does that seem accurate? Any thoughts?
