I’m looking for recent experiences with obtaining one’s license in VA (I did search of the forum but it didn’t come up with much of anything). I just finished my exam and took my ethics exam as well. I’ve faxed over my experience form and my certificate from the ethics exam. I’ve also completed the online application and paid the application fee. Any idea on how long it will take for them to process the information and issue my license? (I know they’re closed today for the holiday.)

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I got a reply to my email around 9:30 that said.

“Dear Mr. Lastname,

I will pull your information together and do a final review and let you know if I need anything further.

Mary T. Charity”

Nothing has been updated on the site and I haven't heard back. Also I'm not happy about being called Mr. when I'm a Mrs.

Everything was marked complete except for my Experience verification. Apparently they didn't get one of the pages so I had to refax it 🙁

Their service is really good. If you haven't tried thru another state, you might not realize that receiving a reply of you email that fast is HUGE!!! 😉

I tried thru FL once, and they are far from helpful.

Not sure if anyone's still waiting on anything, but call them if you're having issues. Mary Charity is incredibly helpful/nice. If you've submitted everything, and nothing is completed on the checklist just be patient. I think they wait to update it until they get everything. That's what happened with me.

@FoundMyBeast – for mine they have everything but only updated that they have my ethics (didn't even update that I passed all four sections). Her email said she'd let me know if they needed anything and I haven't heard from her. I've just frustrated that only one item has been updated when that was the last one (other than the CPE form, which isn't even on the checklist) that I sent.

I got an email earlier that they needed copies of my transcripts because it had been more than three years since I originally applied. I had no idea that I would have to do that since there's nothing that I've found to indicate that. When I finally got Mary on the phone I found out that it was because they only keep them for 3 years. Luckily she was willing to accept an unofficial transcript, and I have sent that to her directly via email. Everything else on my checklist has been marked “completed”.

That's frustrating! Since they had issues with it the first time, I would call just to verify they've received it.

Everything on mine is marked “completed” so I have no idea when I should expect them to actually process my license. I emailed my unofficial transcript directly to Mary, so hopefully it won't take long for them to process it.

I sent Mary Charity an e-mail. She got back to me pretty quick this morning, so I'll see.

I am worried because I have this misdemeanor charge from when I was a teenager that I reported on my application, so I'm hoping that won't slow down the whole process.
