Has anyone NOT had trouble with the FL board?

I received notice of a 4.4 hour deficiency, but I have 176.9 hours. They evaluated only my final transcript, that reflects 145.6 hours – not all of my credits were required for transfer into the accounting program at the college graduated from, so all credits weren’t reflected on the final transcript from that school.

They also told me that my work verification form expired. I told them when I hand delivered my application when my work experience verification was submitted (by a former boss, a little over a year ago). They said it’d be fine.

So instead of getting all green, all ok on my application, I had to get my new boss to complete a new work verification form and I had to remind the evaluators that they have more than just my final transcript in their system… And now I’m sitting here, obsessively hitting refresh on my application status, regardless of the fact that they don’t work weekends and the status will never change on a Sunday afternoon.

I have a question. Did you get your transcript sent directly from your college to Tallahassee or you sent it from yourself to the board?

I hand delivered sealed official copies of my transcripts to the board in Tallahassee when I hand delivered my application.
When I spoke with the board, they said that yes, they had my prior university's transcripts, but they just didn't evaluate them.

Ok, well I'm in Miami. I can't go hand deliver my application. I was trying to see if I can have the transcripts sent to me and I include it with the application package. I guess I will give them a call tomorrow morning.

You can absolutely send them directly from the school. I preferred to take the complete package all at once so nothing got misdirected or lost in the mail.

I just spoke to them this morning. I do not need to resubmit my transcripts as I had already submitted them with my original application to sit for the CPA exam. One thing though, the haven't received my 3rd passing score from June. I have to call NASBA to resend the score.

Be sure to reference the transcripts they have on file in a cover letter to your application packet. They won't actively look for anything they have on file for you, unless you tell them “Hey, you have this and this already in the system.”

    Good luck!

    Best of luck to you.

I've been dealing with the Florida Board for over 2 months since I passed all my exams. As of last Friday I was told I need to go to community college (its cheap) and take 9 credits hours worth of elementary business classes like Intro to Computing. I have 2 college degrees (and then some), I've passed all my exams, and I've worked in accounting nearly 8 years. But I need to go to community college to get the piece of paper saying I'm licensed. Florida is dumb, but never give up. The hard part is over.

Word of advice: just submit new copies of your transcripts to save heartache..
I'm having to get my husband to go to fsu tomorrow to get my transcripts and hand deliver them.

Nothing I've been told by the board has been consistent.

It's like they're trying to weed out the weak ones trying to enter the profession.
