Since they are taking longer to grade because of the new format does anyone know if the 18 month window might be extended? I find it unfair if I fail the first two parts that it will take almost 3 months to get my first score back at least from BEC- that’s a lot of lost time in the CPA review world!! Wanted to know if anyone had the scoop on this? If I pass it’s no big deal, but if not, this could be a problem. I want to remain positive but didn’t feel good coming out of BEC…

I haven't heard anything to suggest that they will be extending the 18 month window…

No, they have stated that they are not going to extend the 18 month window.

When does the 18 month window start? When you took the test or when the score is released?

It starts on the day you sat for the first section you passed.

So if BEC is the first section you passed, and you sat for the exam on 4/4/11, the you're 18 month window would start on 4/4/11. Even if you didn't get your score until June, the start date for the 18 month window would still be 4/4/11.

I think mine in Texas was 18 months from the date my first passing score was certified. I remember distinctly that when I passed the first section (BEC), my online account said I had until 5/18/2012 to pass the remaining sections. I tested on 10/18/2010, and my score was ratified on 11/18/2010.
