Good idea to CRAM for Audit a day before the test?

It seems that every review course that I come across seems to rave about how taking their CRAM course will add an extra 10 or so to your grade and they have me sold. Now my question is that I am going to be taking Audit in 3 days(Sunday 05/15), is it a good idea to spend 9 HOURS watching Cram or just spend those 9 hours working MCQ’s?

I have never had the pleasure of taking the CRAM course so please delight me! Thanks!

    just my 2 cents…..

i do not know what you mean by cram course… didnt see any such thing with the courses i used… with that said everyone learn differently… The weekend before my exam (on a monday) i must have gone over hundreds of mcq… i learn better from doing the questions…. what i found interesting was that i printed out and went over a fee pages of questions i found to be very tough, only to see about two of those questions on the exam…. smh thank god for intuition

All depends on your learning style. Personally, just watching the lectures doesnt really do anything for me. Its actually working the MCQ's that get me to really think about how to apply the concepts.

I've known some people to only buy the CRAM course and use that as their studying plan. (They take weeks to finish it though, not try to actually cram for the exam). They like the shorter video lectures and the lower price. Then supplement the CRAM course with Wiley or Gleim just to get in extra MCQ's.

I think the CRAM session are great, but I take the LIVE Becker version which may provide more than a talking head on a screen. More importantly then the lecture part of the CRAM is the extra SIMS/MCs you will receive with the CRAM course. Our professor tells us the CRAM goes to waste if you don't take the exam within 5-7 days so I'd say do it as long as it comes with more problems.

I think it's best not to study the day before the exam, other than a very short review. I don't think what you learn or don't learn in one day is going to affect whether you pass or not. The exam is mentally draining and you don't want to be tired. But everyone's different.

2nd attempt at this thing. Time to get serious.

Doing a “CRAM” right before sitting for the exam is not about learning new material it's all about getting things you have already learned into short-term memory. I used to stop studying the day before the exam so I would be relaxed and not stressed out, well after failing BEC 3 times in a row I changed that method. I now not only study the day before the exam I also study the day of the exam. It’s a lot easier to recall something from a few hours ago than it is a few days ago. The last thing I do before walking into the exam is read Jeff's notes a few times and since I've been doing that I've scored an 85, 86, and 87. I also find that it doesn’t stress me out because I fell even more prepared and I actually feel more relaxed than taking the day before off.

I completely agree with EM. It is very beneficial, IMHO, to study the day before and the day of the exam. I am not talking about a rigorous session and killing your brain, but you should definitely be running through MC's and glancing through notes. If you are not prepared, then doing this will probably give you anxiety, in which case you probably shouldn't be taking the test anyways.

I take AUD tomorrow, and have studied 3 hours thus far today. I plan on studying another 3 hours after the Mavericks game and sleeping in tomorrow. I hope to get in a solid 2-3 hours of studying in before my exam tomorrow at 3pm. This method has proved effective so far.
