I applied for my CPA license (in Georgia) via the NASBA online service mycpalicense.org after receiving my last passing score from the 2017 Q2 score release. On August 24th I got an email that all of my supporting documentation has been received and that I have no further actions. The email said to please allow up to 6 weeks for initial evaluation. Well, this Thursday will have been 6 weeks!

Is anyone else experiencing these long wait times before hearing about your application for your CPA license??

I waited over 12 weeks for my last score and now almost 6 weeks so far for my license. I AM SO TIRED OF WAITING!

Wow that's a long wait. The worst part about the whole process is there is little information provided for the status of your application. I don't want to e-mail the state board, I'm sure they're bothered with hundreds of inquiries after the scores are released. I just want to know if my application made it to the most recent board meeting.

Well it doesn't seem like GA is as bad as NY. The latter apparently takes 6-8 months now.

If you have your ducks in a row, you can get licensed in FL in no time. Took them just under a week to process.

It took longer to get my transcripts in the mail. They'll accept uploaded copies of everything for the application.

I was in the same situation last year. I sent my completed license application the first week of June, received the email saying items we're received and I have no further action to take. Six weeks later I got a series of emails saying my application is being processed to Congrats! Here's your license number. You should hear something sooner rather than later!

    AUD - 84 (10/11/14)
    BEC - 79 (5/4/15)
    FAR - 70, 72, 72, 75 (1/11/16)
    REG - 61 (ewww), 77 (4/25/16) - DONE!

That is helpful, thank you! I will keep my fingers crossed that I get my “Congrats” email this week!

@MDM Congrats to you! Don't worry it's not just you as I am also dealing with this grueling wait time.

I also go the “All documentation to accompany your online application has been received and your application has been placed in the initial evaluation stage” on August 24th. It was all silence until last week on the 28th I got the “The initial evaluation of your application is complete and your file is being sent to our Quality Assurance department for review. Please allow 5 business days for the quality assurance review.” email follow by another E-Mail on Friday stating “Status Update: The Quality Assurance review of your application and supporting documentation is still in process”.

This has been the most brutal wait from taking the final exam to still not having my official CPA License #. I even got congratulated/recognized in a work meeting and they added CPA behind my name. I was like no net yet, can not add those letters behind my name as I am not official.

Hopefully the end is near for us.

Update for anyone interested in the Georgia processing time:

8/21/2017 – Submitted my application along with supporting documents and had my transcripts sent to NASBA.
8/24/2017 – Received an email that all documentation has been received and that my application is in the initial evaluation stage. The email said to allow up to six weeks for this stage.
10/3/2017 – Received an email that the initial evaluation of my application is complete and that the file is being sent to the Quality Assurance department for review.
10/20/2017 – Received an email that my application was found eligible for licensure by NASBA and sent to the Georgia Board of Accountancy. Within 2 hours I received an email with my CPA license number and congratulatory letter.

So total time between submitting my application and receiving my license number was just under 9 weeks. Patience is your friend during this time! Good luck everyone!
