That's probably a question for your state board of accountancy.

I'd probably say yes, but it would be Schedule C, subjecting you to SE tax.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

What is a freelance CPA without a firm? The firm is John Doe, CPA. As Gator stated, any income/expenses would then be reported on Schedule C. Even if you started a single member LLC, if would still go on Schedule C.

@mhueycpa Does the single member LLC have to be formed in the state you are licensed?

ie John Doe CPA licensed in PA, LLC in DE?

Not an expert in business formation. But, no doesn't have to be the same. Remember certain activities performed by CPAs are protected by the corporate veil, so forming an LLC serves only limited purposes in our profession.

Yes. I work for several CPA/CGA/CA firms and they pay my LLC
