Hi,
Can anyone decipher what the following means for the CA CPA experience requirement? Could a run of the mill corporate Financial Analyst satisfy the work requirement this way?
“General accounting experience includes providing any type of service or advice involving the use of …management advisory, financial advisory…or consulting skills.”
New York State has the following elaboration on its experience certification form, but I’m not sure it applies to California. It sounds fairly open ended. Here’s the link: https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/cpa4b.pdf California has no such elaboration on its form.
G. Management Advisory Services:
1. Designing and installing accounting, cost or other systems for a client or employer, when not related to an extension of auditing
assignments.
2. Any other management advisory services provided for a client or employer.
H. Financial Advisory Services: Includes a range of financial analysis and advice for either a client or employer including:
1. financial management activities;
2. pension management;
3. securities analysis.
I. Consulting:
1. Business valuation.
2. Mergers and acquisitions.
3. Client Training on accounting systems.”
