    Hey guys,

I having been studying for FAR since mid-February. I had originally wanted to take it by mid-April, but now I’m going to push it back to the end of the testing window at the end of May to hopefully be as prepared as possible. I’m using Becker, and I’ve watched all the lectures and answered all the questions at least once. I know I’m still nowhere close where I need to be, does anyone have any study tips as far as reviewing and hitting the weaker points? Ideally I would like to get in 25-30 study hours a week but with work, a wife, and kids I’m averaging closer to 20-25. Any advice or study plans that you found useful would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much! I’m trying at least two hours of day of nothing but MCQ’s and simulations everyday to see if that will help.

I took FAR on 4/1 so I don't have my score yet, but I felt like I did well and that I was as prepared as I possibly could be. I used the Becker books for studying, but found that the Wiley problems were tougher and more helpful than Becker's. You can study the material until you're blue in the face, but working the problems gets you used to the wording and highlights the fine points that you need to know to pass the exam. I think it's definitely worth it to buy the test data bank. I did the problems by topic when I wanted to focus on a particular area interspersed with sample exams to get used to the format and time involved. It was especially helpful in understanding the governmental and NFP topics.

    Good luck.
