Expiration of CPA exams

I passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam early this year in Texas. However, I have not taken the ethics course or applied for the license yet. Is there a time limit to do so? Do the CPA exams already passed expire at any point in the future? If so, what should be done to prevent losing credit for the exams?

I am currently not working. So, I’m worried if I take the license, it will be hard to maintain it. Please advise. Thanks!

Probably your best bet for a definitive answer would be to call your state board of accountancy.

    FAR - F (2011), 5/16
    AUD - F(2011)
    BEC -
    REG -

2nd attempt at this thing. Time to get serious.

It varies state by state. CT has no stale date.

    Aud 73, 79
    Reg 70, 60, 67, 76
    Far 70, 66, 72, 87
    Bec 77

Hop on it TexCPA!!!! Thousands of followers of this website would love to be in your shoes. You have done the hard work….now get the easy stuff out of the way and get your license!!!! Why risk it?!?!

I am waiting for my last exam score, hopefully, and have everything else ready to go. This is too hard and long of a process to not want that license ASAP. Doesn't make sense to me to wait. You can't market yourself as a CPA until you've done so. Is 40 hours of CPE per year really that hard to maintain? Just saying…..

Heck, most of us study that much in one week, while working full time! Get it done! You'll thank me later.

    BEC - 71, 74, 77 (Feb - 2011)
    FAR - 73, 78 (Feb - 2011)
    REG - 83 (Nov 2010)
    AUD - 71, 84 (May 2011) - Done!! CPA licensed in TX (July 2011)

Thanks all for the response! I found out from the TX State Board that the exams do not expire once you pass all 4.
