I just purchased the AICPA on demand ethics course. Under the resource tab I found a pdf version of the course. The guide has an exam in it as well. Are these the actual exam questions I will have? I can’t find an answer key like they are meant to be practice questions.

@Tripin93–Have you started the exam questions yet? I saw in a prior post that you had to go through them 1 by 1, which sounded like you had.

Nope, I haven't done it yet. I began the course, scrolled down to the very bottom, and clicked start exam. I was hoping to see all the question at once. I haven't attempted answering the questions yet.

I probably won't have time to take the test until next Wednesday or Thursday. When I take it, I'll share my experience. If you take it before me, please post!

Will do. How are you studying for the exam? I'm having a hard time putting together a study plan for the ethics test. It isn't like studying for the other sections.

I have absolutely no idea. I'll probably print the study guide's questions (not the entire study guide.) Read all the questions. And then flip though the slides. I'll try to answer all of the study guide questions, and then take the exam then. Hopefully it won't take too long!!

I took the ethics exam yesterday as I desperately do anything to make the next 3 days pass, and I didn't study for it, just worked through the questions with the book in front of me. When you purchase the book, there will be 45 questions in the back called the “self-study exam.” These are the questions you will answer as your ethics exam. When you want to take the exam, go to cpegrading.aicpa.org and login. Go to the “take examinations” tab, and you'll have to enter in your specific ethics exam serial number, found on page one of the manual exam entry form (basically an AICPA scantron form). Then, you need to key in the course code which is found just below the publishing info on the first page or two of the book. Be sure to read each question very carefully, as some answers will seem to make sense logically, but are actually not correct. All of the answers can be found either verbatim in the text, or reasonably inferred from the conceptual framework. Worst case scenario, post a question on here and we can all hash it out together.

I just took the ETHICS exam recently, and failed the first time then passed the second time. I got 87% the first time, took me 3 hours to go over with each questions. I know I only need to find the 2 wrong answers and make it right. Questions are in order so its not hard to find where the answer is, its just you need to understand it very carefully. I bought the book, works better for me.

Study plan? Just go one question at a time and search for the answer. Since you have the pdf form of the course you should be good. Make sure to take note of the questions and your answer, maybe you can copy and paste in a word file with your answer so just in case you don't pass the first time at least you have the list of the questions with your answers and you can track which one is wrong.

I took the ethics exam yesterday (scored 97% … now, if only that could be my FAR score lol). I took it through the AICPA website: went to my account -> my online learning tab -> clicked on the course. I printed the whole thing out, answered the exam questions at the end of the print out as I went through the study material. When I was done I went online to the exam section of the course and answered the questions using my answers from the paper print out. I got a certificate at the end (before you start the exam they ask you which states you want your results to go to).

@ bartime: My process seems to have been different from yours and I am hoping it is the same thing! The exam cover page did mention logging in to cpegrading and entering a unique serial number but I didn't have a unique serial number anywhere. I did not have an ‘answer sheet'.

All I did was download the PDF and as I was going through each question I searched the PDF file for those key words or sections where I could find the relevant information. It took me less than 30 minutes and I got a 93%. I really do not think you need a study plan or to worry that much about it as long as you take your time and dont just click the first answer you think.

@kcbrian4: Yes! It never expires which is great! I have not passed all four and took mine a month ago. It should show up in your exam history on your state board's website. So for IL when I go to check my exam scores, I can see the AICPA exam score in there as well. I know for my board it takes a while to get the ethics score and continue the licensing process once you are ready, so I thought taking it now would speed up the process.

@kemi22 and jessica8926, did you buy the on demand version or the book? If you bought the on demand version, were your exam questions the same as the questions in the pdf?

@Ecollin1: I bought the on demand version and yes my questions were the same! They do not provide the answers obviously, but when I would go back and search the PDF I would always think I found my answer, when instead I just found the question haha. But you should still be able to find the answer by searching keywords in the PDF.
