Ethics Exam Question

I’m just curious as to how the Ethics exam works. Does NASBA or the state board send you an invitation to take the ethics exam? Or do you take the ethics exam when you actually apply for the certification? I live in Washington if that makes a difference.

    Thanks!

It's an AICPA self study course. It's open book, not timed and you can take the exam online (40 MC questions). You have to buy the course about $130 (I suggest the text version), look up the answers and enter them online. The entire ethics exam process took me 3 hours from start to finish. The AICPA will send your score to the state boards you select.

Awesome, thanks for the information :). One follow up question, should I take the exam as soon as i pass all 4 parts, or should i wait to do it until i actually apply for my license? (I currently have 0 hours of experience to use as part of the 2000 hour requirement). Or does it not really matter?

Ok, this is the information that I found on the AICPA website is this the correct one? Also why do you suggest the text version over the CD version? TIA

I am curious as to what is up with this Ethics exam as well. It's very difficult to find anything online about it. Is it possible to keep the book open all day (10hrs) while taking the test and checking over your work?

I received the CD on Monday. Spent a couple of hours Monday night and another hour Tuesday completing the exam. It takes a 20 minutes to figure out your way around the software. There a couple of PDFs that have the majority of information. I would take it as soon as you have time. I am done and now how to wait on the Board. Good Luck

I've heard you need to get a 90 or higher to pass. Obviously it's not as difficult as the actual CPA exam (from what I've heard), but the fact you need a 90+ means it's probably pretty important to check it over

I have passed all the 4 papers. Now what? I am already employed and not looking for a liscence. Do I get a certificate just saying that I am a CPA or a member of AICPA (and not allowed to practice)…Thanks in advance your answer

I am trying to take the Ethics portion of my CPA exam online. When I go online to take my exam it asks me for the unique serial number printed on Page 1 of my answer sheet, but I can't find an answer sheet in my book. Can you please help me? I need to complete this ASAP.

I remember reading something somewhere about it being on the cd case or on the back near the bar code and not being where they say it's supposed to be.
