I know there have been numerous topics about the ethics exam but I just wanted to clear a couple questions up.

1. I live in Iowa my state requires the AICPA ethics exam to get licensed.

2. My understanding is this is a 40 question test that I need to get 90% on (correct me if I’m wrong)

3. I find this course on AICPA.org and it cost $156. If I purchase this course does it include the actual test? Is this what I purchase in order to directly send my certificate once I pass to the state? IF I fail do I need to repurchase again or can I just take it again without spending an additional $156

4. Do I need to print proof that I passed the ethics exam and mail it in with my application or does it go directly to the state?

I’m a little confused with the logistics and I don’t want to purchase the class for $156 to find out it doesn’t include the actual test. To be honest I didn’t expect to ever get to this point so I ignored people when they talked about it. OOPS 🙁

Yes, It includes the actual test and you need 90%. Get the on demand (online version) and while in the software download the e-book pdf which you can use to search for answers (ctrl + F). You can quickly skip through all the slides one after the other to get to the exam. It took a bit longer for me like 2-3 hours to finish because I only had 3 chances to pass via online submission. I can’t remember if it was 40 or 45 but after you pass, it will ask you what state boards you want to send it too. I am printing it out anyways and including it with my application and you should too. Make sure you select “for licensure” and not CPE when you add to cart. You can fail up to 3x online (you will know immediately, but not WHICH questions are wrong) before you will have to send in a paper exam via snail mail. I'm not sure when or if you'd have to repay..maybe if you fail after the 4th time after having submitted a paper exam? Not sure there.
