    Hi everyone,

I am currently short of 8 credit hours for licensing and was looking for info about CLEP credits.

I have never enrolled in any college in the USA and was wondering if I can still transfer CLEP credits to any university by paying a fee?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most colleges and university will give you CLEP credit if you are enrolled with them. With only 8 credits left, you might as well take some easy online courses for the credit. LSU has several online class that you can get credit in as little as 8 weeks. The State of Georgia have most of it’s State University on a consortium to offer online classes which is also available for Non-Georgia resident at the same price, $159 per unit and textbook included. Just enroll with one of the university as a “transient” student.

Thanks @Lara Do you know the website for LSU online? I can see two different ones: one for LSU online this – https://lsuonline.lsu.edu/

and another LSU distance learning – https://www.outreach.lsu.edu/Distance-Learning/Online-Distance-Learning

Which one is the right one? Also, since I have all my education abroad, I don't know if I have the pre-requisites for the courses.

The LSU distance learning is the correct one for just getting undergraduate credits. They are an accredited university. The courses I took were acceptable for the Georgia Board and I read several posts here that they were accepted in several states as well.

Most of the lower level courses have no prerequisite, and if they do, you most likely have them from your 148 credit courses abroad. From the LSU website: “Students must meet the stated prerequisite or its equivalent before taking a course.” So you don't need to take the actual prerequisite from LSU, so long as you have them in your other school. For example, if you have “ENG 100 College English Composition” in your transcript – it is equivalent to ENGL 1001 English Composition from LSU, then you can take most of the English classes that's being offered.

Also, it's an independent study and you are not a degree seeking student, they'll just have to take your word for it. In fact, it says they in the website: “Student must declare prerequisites on application for enrollment, and the student takes responsibility for enrollment under that declaration.

A word of caution: Some of the State board have specific education requirement (California require 10 units of Ethics courses). Make sure you verify with your board that you have all the required course and can take any college courses to satisfy the 150 credit requirement.
