    Hey there.

I’m done with all sections finally, and it feels great. BUT…………

I’m trying to apply for the CPA License currently, however, there are so many things to do before I can add those 3 alphabets before my name. Questions –

    1) What’s the best way to go about the Ethics Exam? Course material, registration? Pls guide me…

    2) I already had my education evaluated by WES under Alaska Board. Now I need to transfer my credits to Colorado to apply for my license. I’ve been told that I need to do the evaluation AGAIN under NIES or so for the “updated” evaluation. Is this true???? I’m surprised….

    3) I need to take extra courses to meet the requirements such as Auditing as I’ve done my education in India previously which didn’t have ‘GAAS’. Is there any best way to know which all courses Imma have to make up for?? I’m trying to save time….

Please help with your inputs… Thanks a lot.

    Cheers.

    Hi there,

I've purchased the AICPA Ethics comprehensive course from CPA2Biz, how do I go about it now? I want to start studying but I cannot view the material….

Is it possible for me to download the material on my computer instead of viewing the website everytime? Also, any tips on preparing for the Ethics exam, or any pointers that I should be aware of?

    Please share… 🙂

needhelpfar: I can't help you since I have not reached that point of the process yet, however I will be in the same boat next year as I also want to transfer my scores from Alaska to another state. I also used WES. So, happy to hear how it went in your case, once you have the answers to your questions.

For question #3 though, I assume you are saying that it is Colorado and not Alaska requiring those audit courses? Coz Alaska credit evaluation has already been made, and I suppose there is no incremental educational requirement once you have finished the exams and apply for the license?

Also, would it not be possible to get the license in Alaska and once that is done transfer it to another state?

In regards to the subject of obtaining a license in Colorado (for those who do not meet the experience or 150 hour req) and transferring to NJ or NY, it is not possible unless you also meet the NJ or NY requirements, i.e. 150 credit hours + 1 year experience. Just remember the 3 E's.

    1. Education (150 hours)

    2. Experience (1 year)

    3. Examination (Pass the CPA)

As long as you can tick these 3 boxes you will have no problem transferring anywhere.

I am personally not a fan of the alternative route via Colorado (education in liu of experience). I think every CPA should obtain the appropriate experience requirements.

sorry – no clue. Not my state – we don't have ethics. (wait, that sounds bad!) Good luck – when in doubt, see if there's a number/email address on the receipt that you can call.
