I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible.
I passed the CPA exams, passed ethics exam, had my work submit work experience form for General license, and sent in my application for general license two months ago.
It took California CPA society a month and a half (and about 5 phone calls) to send the California board of accountancy my passing score on the ethics exam. This is something that should have happened automatically when I passed the exam.
That held up my application process by a month because the CA board of accountancy did not tell me what I needed to do to get my score re-sent and originally told me that emailing a copy of my passing certificate was enough. When they finally told me what I needed to do, it took another week and a half for the Calcpa society to actually transmit the information.
It then took the CA board of accountancy another two weeks to send me a letter saying that my application is complete and it will take another four to six weeks to process my application.
To me, this seems like an unreasonable amount of time to process my CPA application. Every extra week delay costs me money and stress as there is a lot of value in the designation which I have earned.
Is this anything I can do at this point to get them to speed the process up?
