Going through the final paperwork stage for the actual license application. There is a criminal conviction disclosure form where you have to disclose any convictions for criminal offenses other than a minor traffic violation. The form asks for information such as date of arrest, details of violation, etc.

I have a public intoxication charge from a long time ago. After putting down all the information, under details of violation, I’ve written “In College, young and stupid”. I’m not worried about this being an issue since plenty of people have gotten their license with worse.

Still, a friend of mine thinks this is unnecessary and not professional. I think it sums up the story pretty succinctly without going into too much detail. Perhaps though my inner comedian is coming out…

Should I only list the charge and turn it in? Do I need to go into additional detail about the circumstances? Leave it as is?

Passed AUD, BEC & FAR. Lost credit for AUD & BEC once. Finally finished with REG as dessert. 15 times was the charm.

    AUD: 86
    FAR: 81
    BEC: 80
    REG: 76

Although the summation is nice and concise, it can be looked upon as unprofessional or even as a mocking response depending on the reader. If I were you, I'd just give the facts of the occurence and leave it there.

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

I got a DWI a few years ago, and I put down all the information and then put that everything had been taken care of, I'm not on any type of probation, and that I more than learned my lesson. I”m in Texas.

But either way, I don't think it will matter if you put it or not. Maybe at least say it a little more professional.

I had to go to an AA type meeting with a CPA and it was all taken care of.
