    Hi All,

I have a question regarding CPE requirements. Does the 150 per 3 year rule begin once you actually become accredited or is there some sort of CPE needed to get the license in the first place?

Reason I ask – when I originally began working 4 years ago at Big 4 and was studying, CPE requirements never phased me because of how much training you do that results in credits. 3.5 years later, I didn’t pass my exam and I’m now going to begin studying again. The issue is that at the private firm I’ve worked at for the past 2 years, i’ve done next to no CPE whatsoever.

I did print out a schedule of all the CPE I had taken at Big 4, which now dates almost 2 years (for what it’s worth). Any clarity on the issue would help – thank you!

This can vary by state – what state are you looking to get licensed in?

In most I've heard of, including my own (KY), there's no CPE requirements till you are licensed.
