I submitted my paperwork couple months ago to state of NY. Little background on me, I took and passed the exams in WA and moved to NY after marriage (currently live in NJ). I finally completed my required hours and submitted my paperwork to NY back in January. After couple back and forth and sending in documents again, I just found out my license has been approved (I haven’t received anything in the mail yet, however I looked it up online).
My question is, why does my license say “Registered” instead of “Active.” I currently work for a CPA firm and have been doing accounting since I passed my exams. Like I said, I haven’t received anything in the mail so my answer might be in the mail, however, I couldn’t wait that long and had to ask!! Anyone have any insight on it?
Thanks!
PS: I haven’t finished my ethics exam (finished the AICPA one, but need to complete one administrated by WA) and thus haven’t applied for WA license (just need to complete ethics exams and send in remaining hours). I haven’t done anything with NJ state board. I was hoping to get licensed in NY and then transfer to NJ/WA. I’m not sure if this anything to do with Registered status instead of Active status, but just wanted to throw that out there.
