Hi,
Can someone give their opinion on which category of experience I should choose on the CPA license application?
I’m an accountant who works at a state university, but is doing accounting for the charitable foundations associated with that university, not the university itself.
In my case, I don’t really consider myself to be doing government accounting because the foundations work under FASB, not GASB rules.
So, when applying for the CPA license through NASBA, you have to choose your type of experience as Public Accounting, Industry, Government, or Academia (teaching accounting).
I’m thinking I should choose Industry, since I’m doing NFP accounting, and not really governmental.
What do you think?
Thanks!
