To those of you who have passed this exam or are about to (or if you are just a trolly, troll troll), please do us a favor and don’t come back to these sites and post negative comments to us. If you have some insight, or advice, GREAT, but don’t come back and pick on us.

Lately, there have been posts and comments basically putting candidates down, and haven’t we got enough to deal with?

Why do these people feel the need to gloat and tell us how “funny” it is to read our struggles. I can’t believe some of these people who have passed such a high stakes exam are so arrogant and thoughtless.

    Show some class, please.

I agree with Allyson, this forum is to help and encourage other CPA candidates, not to bash or discourage CPA candidates. For you trolls, follow your Mom's advice: ‘If you can't say something nice, don't say nuthin' at all'

I love it, Allyson!!!! They need to be taken down from their clouds and feel the taste of reality.

Maybe I haven't seen all the trolling, but I think what these CPAs are trying to say is that we should spend a little more time studying and a little less time on this website complaining about it… It's a great outlet at times, but the “poor me” threads get a little out of control. I personally would prefer to hear about people who overcome challenges and were motivated to fullfill their dreams.

@ducktales, we (or me at least) are mainly talking about the ‘trolls' who create a user ID for the sole purpose of posting one or two messages about how the CPA exam is easier these days than it was back in the day. I think the ‘poor me' threads that you are talking about are just regular CPA exam candidates reaching out for some encouragement and guidance which is what this forum is all about. It's usually those threads where you will find posts from others who have overcome challenges and succeeded. I just think it's annoying and classless to register with another71.com, post a message about how much better you are than anyone else and then disappear.

This is VERY, very funny. I have thought the same thing, why would someone pass the CPA exam and come back here, or call into the Yaeger CPA blog radio show and talk about passing the test (unless they were being paid to pitch their review ) product).

My answer, I don't think they would, but the more I read here for tips, the more I think people really do pass and come back and post here.

Charlie Sheen would say they aren't WINNING if that is what they do for fun!

I actually have talked to a lot of arrogant CPA-holes myself! I told one guy I was taking the exam and he said only an idiot can't pass it on the first time. I later found out that he received two 75's, a 76 and 77 and thought he failed every exam he took (like the rest of us).

My department head said the same thing, and tried to rub it in by asking all our PWC auditors if they passed on the first try and only one out of 7 did. He then said, “they are just bad examples.”

After passing you would think you might have some empathy for people that struggle and say some encouraging words, but some people are just arrogant.

    REG: Passed,(expired 4/30/11), Passed - 87 (2/29/12)
    BEC: Passed,(expired 2/29/12), Scheduled May 2012
    FAR: 72,74,74(C'MON!), (Schedule 4/20/12)
    AUD: Passed

I wonder how many of these CPA-holes are actually active CPAs? Thats my pet peeve, inactive CPA's who took the test ten years ago, and haven't done any CPE or anything since then. But they still think they are better than any of us taking the exam in the electronic format.

If the test were soooo much easier these days then I wonder why the head of the accounting department at my university(and former dean of the business school) was so adamant I take the cpa exam back in '03 when I graduated? I recall him trying to tell me it would be getting progressively more difficult to pass down the line and that the newest round of changes right around the corner (back then) would be making the thing a whole lot more challenging to pass.

    And for the record:

“In the next 12 years, according to Friedman’s estimates, 75 percent of all CPAs will become eligible for retirement.” – CPAtrendlines.com

That tells me the baby-booming curmudgeons who passed it back in the day HAD IT MADE compared to those taking it today. OTHERWISE, we'd not have so few CPA's filling that huge void.

    Suck on that CPA-holes!
