    Hey,

    I don't think there is one correct answer to your question. People have had success with various different CPA courses. It actually comes down to which suits your studying style the best. The best way to find that out is to visit the websites of these review courses and take a look at their free sample/ preview material.

    Another thing to keep in mind is how well versed in accounting you are. For instance, I recently graduated with a major in Accounting and my basics were pretty strong so a review course like Becker was sufficient for me. For others who have graduated many years ago or don't feel their core concepts are strong, teaching courses like Yaeger seem to work better.

    Good Luck studying for the exams! 🙂

    I agree with @Deepa, it really depends on your own study style. My advice would be to not purchase more than one section for a review course until you know that its the right one for you. You don't want to spend thousands on Becker buying all four sections at once, and then realize that its not informative enough for you. Personally, I don't learn anything from watching video lectures (my mind tends to just space out) so I used Wiley and Gleim mcq's and practice sims. I also did any other free practice questions I could get my hands on.

    Thanks for the information. i would go to the websites and will check the free samples.

    I have heard a lot about Yeager, do they provide free samples???

    Moreover, I don't like class room teaching, i prefer studying at home.

    I, like CalCPASoon, don't learn anything from videos. I used CPAexcel's self study program, which consists of many mini study sessions with practice questions after each session. It also has a really cool study scheduling feature and easy-to-read practice test results. You can sign up for a free trial at cpaexcel.com. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, this study program is now on special and only costs $795 and it includes free flash cards (although I prefer to make my own flash cards since I learn more that way).

    And no I am not paid by CPAexcel to advertise for them. 🙂 I just really believe in their program. I'm not saying that this is the best program for everyone, but you should at least give the free trial a shot before spending thousands on other study programs.

    Also, the Wiley books are a good supplemental tool for your studying, but I wouldn't use them as your main study method. They are painfully tedius to read. I did use them to look up a few topics for clarification though, and I also took the practice exams in my last week of studying.

    I Agree

    I am using Roger CPA Review but I did my share of research first. I needed a teaching style to meet my learning style. This one worked for me. I think you should try Demos and look at the instructors and materials they offer. Its an investment so make sure you do what works for you.

    I cant wait for this to be over.

    @msgforaparna,

    I think it is smart for you to do some homework on the software available. I didn't have a choice because the firm I was working at used Becker exclusively. I got a great price on the software (I left the firm mid stream, so had to pay for it) but then found that I needed some supplements. I have gone to Yaeger for additional help.

    But I agree with the posts that it is really subjective, everybody has a different study style, so there is no “right” answer.

    Best of luck to you.
