Profoundly, mindnumbingly awkward question: I need to license in any state. Years ago, I had been in a drunken fist fight and received a felony. I pled no contest and had it expunged. While applying for licensing in my state, I am required to hire an attorney and can have a restricted license which I cannot explain to the partners.

I hear that Georgia does not do background checks as well as Arizona (they do ask on the application). Does anybody know a state that does not do these checks?

Maryland has no background check.

Thanks for the info. I can license here but it will cost thousands and possibly my job. I was a teacher and passed with flying colors so it shouldn't be a problem.
