Confirming Work Experience With Previous Employer?

Due to my OCD, I refused to look into next steps after passing the exam until I actually passed all 4 parts. I am finally there and want to knock off the next steps nice and quick. My work experience will be coming from my time at a Big 4 firm, which I left 4+ years ago. On top of that, none of my managers are still there either (this is for NJ). Does anyone have an idea how you literally go about confirming your work experience? Do you reach out to the employer with the forms (given they will be familiar) and have them fill out their portion? Do I reach out to my actual ex-managers?

I will be doing my own research and looking to find these answers but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask here as well. Thanks!

Depending on your state's rules you more than likely need an individual CPA to sign off on your experience. A current CPA that you never worked with at your former employer is unlikely to sign off. If it were me I would ask one of your former managers to sign off on the form.

Having a previous manager from my time in public accounting problem should be no problem – I am just not sure if that's fine versus it being a more formal process of going through the actual place of employment (it's for an NJ license).
