Has anyone experienced computer problems whiling taking FAR or any other sections? While I was working in the simulations for FAR, the computer would just freeze up and I wasn’t able to scroll up and down because of the freezing. I also noticed my time was still running. Also, when I tried to select an answer in the drop down menu, the hourglass would just sit there like its thinking. I finally got up and notify the employee. They rebooted my computer and it was still doing the same thing. They finally moved me to another computer. I figured I lost almost 30 mins of my exam time because of the freezing and having to get up and notify someone of the issues. I wasn’t able to finish the exam but could of if I didn’t lose that time. Is there anything I should or can do about this?

I had a similar problem while taking REG. Worried I lost the MCQ's I finished before the reboot. If I get a 49 as a score then I guess it didnt really save

My prometric test completely crashed after my 3 testlets and right before the SIMS. I had 3 minutes of white screen then a popup that said “critical error” see administrator. Completly messed up my concentration. I had to call the proctor they rebooted the exam whole thing took 20 minutes. I hope I didnt lose the 72 MCQ's. So I really had 2:45 minutes to do the exam. I recall seeing 1 hour 25 minutes to go for SIMS before the crash when it came back it said 1 hour 12 minutes. My assumption is the clock was ticking until the lady rebooted the computer. So I lost 5-10 minutes ( time I could have used researching a SIM Question I suppose. I was to focused to argue so I kept going. All they could tell me was this happens a lot and to write them a letter..

After the exam I asked her to clarify what she meant by “write them a letter” and she said she made a note of the problem on her end and it would get sent to them. So I asked who is them…She couldnt answer..I assume she meant AICPA.

Its tough enough to take a test and prepare for it. But when your not expecting technical issues and they arise it just adds to the stress load.

You could write a letter to NASBA candidate care at candidatecare@nasba.org. Also, the prometric administrator should have given you a case number to follow up with their IT department, and you could give the case number to NASBA so they can follow up to. I've contacted candidate care at NASBA once before, and to my surprise they actually emailed me back.
