took my AUD exam yesterday at the prometric center in Penn Plaza New York

While I was doing the simulation my computer crashed and had to be restarted twice .Each time I hit the authoritative literature tab for one particular task in the simulation my computer showed an error and shut down . I informed the prometric staff who wrote out a report. When the computer restarted my screen wwas right where I had left off…and I continued as normal and finished the simulation and submitted it without any problem ……. ……………. Any suggestions on what else I should be doing to follow up on this incident …………….is there some way I can check with NASBA or any other place , if my exam was submitted completely

So when you said the computer restarted right where it left off, does that mean the clock started at whatever time it left off as well? If you lost minutes of valuable exam time and feel the interruption impacted your performance on the exam, I would call NASBA right away to report the issue and they will probably let you sit for it again without making you repay the exam fee.

I have a friend who's computer screen locked up during sim #5 of REG. The prometric staff & their IT guys worked on it for over an hour but were not able to pull her test up on another computer or get that computer to unlock. They gave her a 1-800 number for NASBA and she has to retake the whole exam. NASBA did give her the option of retaking it in the same testing window or extending her NTS for the next window. (she took her exam in Louisville, KY on May 24th but went ahead and rescheduled for July)

I think the computers at prometric are so old that they can't handle the CBT-e of the 2011 exam. You have to be delicate with your mouse clicking. The computers don't have much RAM (best guess). If your computer terminal is making lots of noises, then it is working very hard so let it PROCESS info (let it quiet down as piece of sh*t computers need more time to process stuff) before you start clicking rapidly on stuff….Don't click among TBS tabs too quickly. …Clicking among tabs in TBS too quickly can trigger a 60second white screen freeze, or worse a full freeze where you might have to call the prometric proctor over (useless) and possibly call NASBA and have to retake the exam.
