I’m currently in the process of applying for licensing and I have a few questions.
    1. I received an email from NASBA that says my application has been sent to the board and requires special review by the board. What does this even mean? I called NASBA but they were not able to explain what it meant.
    2. Has anyone been on the board meeting agenda as a agenda line item and not included in the list at the end? What was ultimately the outcome and were you approved for licensing? Also do you know why you were your own agenda line item?
    3. Finally has anyone attended a board meeting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m really stressing over this whole process. Thanks!

Let me know what you find out. I just moved here – I have my work experience in OK and I'm taking the exams registered in Maine, but now I need to transfer my exam credits to CO and get me certification here.

I can provide some insight, as I am a Colorado resident currently applying for my license and just had a co-worker get his last month.
    1. All applications go for board approval, which is done monthly at the State's Board Meeting. Each application is reviewed and either granted or denied.
    2. I have not seen anyone I knew personally as a line item on the agenda, only listed on the approved list at the end of the meeting minutes.
    3. I have not attended a Board meeting but have talked with someone for the Colorado State society that does attend all board meetings. It sounds like they go through each individual to ensure the application is correct and everything is completed for licensure.
    Hope that helps

Thank you Aaromero806. Do you know by any chance if the board has a question regarding your application and you're at the meeting can you explain or clarify for them or do you have to wait until the next meeting to do so? The only thing I can think they might have a problem with is my 2 auditing classes don't specifically state GAAS. However if you read the syllabus both classes definitely cover GAAS. Honestly I'm so confused why some are singled out and other are on the long list.

Iceman I will for sure let you know once I find out. This whole application process is so long and drawn out and it's so hard to get any answers.

I'm not sure, I imagine it couldn't hurt to be there if you are a line item.
