CO CPA licensure without Active CPA sign-off

Wondering if anyone in Colorado has been able to obtain their license with an auditor sign-off in lieu of director supervisor sign-off. I’ve tried calling the State Board, but they refer me to NASBA who can’t seem to tell me anything.

I’ve got 9.5 years of 10-Q/10-K and technical accounting experience so I have the experience in spades. It’s just that none of my supervisors have ever been Active CPAs, always inactive or lapsed. All of the external auditors I’ve dealt with over the past 9.5 years have offered to attest to my experience, but unsure how this would work.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

I am essentially in the same exact scenario as the original poster except I am trying to become licensed in Georgia. Any new developments with this?

This is what they tell us in Texas: https://www.tsbpa.state.tx.us/exam-qualification/certification-work-experience.html

I have heard of auditors or board members approving a candidate's experience, but they have to regularly evaluate and review the candidate's work.

I'm worried about the same thing, but the state board says I have to pass all four exams before getting to that point.
