Certification: Months of Public Experience?

I have received an email days ago from Texas board saying they are OK my certificate, unofficially. Today I checked my qualification: Months of Public Experice: 0, Months of Other Experience: 48. I wonder if that is good enough for my certification… I work as a forensic accountant, and I wonder why it doesn’t count as public experience…

Well it's probably because it's not Tax or Audit work. Texas has the “advisory” acocunting role, and that's probably where your experience falls under. 48 months…sounds like plenty to me.

    Hi CPA-Convertible,

I know this is off topic, but how did you get into forensic accounting? What was your career path?

    Thanks
